The system behind the tension
A different approach to bodywork

The system behind the tension

Most bodywork works on muscles.

I work on the system that controls them.

When the nervous system stays in a guarded state, the body doesn’t release—no matter how much pressure is applied.

This is why relief doesn’t last.

You may notice it as tension that returns, a body that doesn’t fully settle, or patterns that feel deeper than muscle.

These aren’t separate issues.

They’re expressions of a system that hasn’t felt safe enough to let go.

My work focuses on shifting that underlying state.
When the system changes, the body follows.

About

Edward Correa

I’ve spent over two decades working with the human body.

Over time, my focus shifted from technique to perception—learning to read how the nervous system expresses itself through tissue, posture, and breath.

The work is simple in concept, but precise in execution:

Create the conditions where the body no longer needs to hold.

FAQs

Common Questions and Answers

Some things often asked by new clients

What should I expect during a session?

Each session is calm, unrushed, and tailored to your body and nervous system. The work is grounded and attentive, focused on listening rather than fixing, allowing your body to settle and reorganize naturally.

Do I need to have a specific goal or issue?

No. Some clients arrive with clear intentions, others simply want to feel more at ease in their body. Both are welcome. We work with what’s present for you that day.

Is this deep tissue massage?

The work can be deep, but depth is never forced. Pressure is guided by responsiveness and safety, not intensity. The goal is effective change without overwhelm.

Should I talk during the session?

Conversation is optional. You’re welcome to share observations, needs, or reflections at any point, but silence is equally respected.

What should I wear?

For the greatest therapeutic benefit, massage is most effective when the body is fully undressed and professionally draped. This allows unrestricted movement, better circulation, improved fascial glide, and clearer nervous system relaxation. Elastic or fabric can interfere with fluid flow and sensory feedback, while proper draping ensures comfort, privacy, and professionalism at all times.

How often should I come in?

Frequency depends on your goals, stress levels, and lifestyle. Some clients come weekly, others monthly or as needed. We can discuss what feels supportive for you.

Is this work appropriate if I’m sensitive or stressed?

Yes. Sessions are designed to support nervous system regulation and are especially well-suited for those experiencing stress, fatigue, or sensory overload.
